ZanLIS

A national-scale Laboratory Information System for Zanzibar.

In production · LIMS • System Integration • Data Engineering • Superset

I work with Ubunifu Solutions to maintain and extend this Senaite-based system for Zanzibar’s Ministry of Health. The work connects laboratory workflows, clinical systems, and reporting, helping replace manual processes with integrated software.

I built integration middleware for laboratory requests and results, an instrument-interfacing API, and a data warehouse for laboratory analytics. My work also includes deployment support and user training.

A little about me

I studied Mechanical Engineering, but college is where I discovered a love for software. I taught myself to code, then joined ALX’s year-long software engineering program in November 2022.

Today, I build backend systems and connect software across real-world workflows. I care about the details that make a system useful: how it fits the people using it, how reliably it works, and how it can keep improving.
